Marvin and I have 7 children ranging in age from 21 to 35,  2 granddaughters, and 1 grandson.   I started working for the church in July of 1999 as the custodian. In 2007, I was promoted to the church secretary. I enjoyed working for the congregation as their custodian, but I love my job as secretary! I feel as though the people here are my "extended" family. When I got the job in 1999, I felt like this was home. God knew exactly where I needed to be!

Chancel Choir Director

Rachel McCaulley

I am Rachel McCaulley.  I was born and raised in McPherson, KS.  I graduated from McPherson College with an Elementary Education B.A. degree with an emphasis in music.  I met my husband Russ at McPherson College and we married in 1980 the day before my college graduation.  I taught First grade and Kindergarten for several years in Pearland, TX and Great Bend.  I began teaching elementary music at Riley Elementary nine years ago.  I believe the Lord has called me to continue my faith journey by facilitating worship through music at the First Christian Church of Great Bend.  I welcome all who enjoy singing to the Chancel Choir.

Jeri Harder

I’m Jeri Harder. I graduated from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas in 1978 with a BA in Music Education. I graduated from Emporia State University in 1982 with an MS in Special Education with an emphasis in Learning Disabilities. My husband, Ken and I met while I was attending Bethany. We married in 1980 and have 3 grown children, 1 daughter-in-law, 2 sons-in-law, and 5 wonderful grandchildren. I have been playing piano since I was eight years old and have never regretted all those piano lessons my mother drove me to until I got my own driver’s license and could drive myself. In addition to playing piano and organ for church, I also am the accompanist for the Middle School and High School choirs at Ellinwood. In addition to music, my interests include working with youth, animals, and musical theater. Playing for church is a wonderful outlet for my music!

Bell Choir Director

Mary Hunter

  Send Email

Hi! I’m Mary Hunter. Dan and I were married in 1974 while I was a student at the University of Kansas, where I earned my degree in Music Therapy. I was employed at Larned State Hospital as a music therapist from 1976 until 2008, when I retired from work for the State of Kansas. At that time, I went to work at Larned High School, where I am currently the facilitator for the Virtual Classroom for students taking online college classes and an at risk math tutor. Dan and I have been blessed with three wonderful daughters, two sons-in-law, four grandsons, and one granddaughter. We enjoy traveling and camping, and in my spare time, I love to sew. Directing the Bell Choir is not a job, it is an opportunity to serve the church and my God, and I love it!
